SSCA Annual Slideshow

posted Apr 18, 2010 7:44 PM by SSCA Admin   [ updated Apr 18, 2010 7:47 PM ]

SSCA will be hosting our 12th annual fundraising event at the Ponderosa Lodge on June 19th.  This year we are honored to have the legendary Peter Croft as our slideshow presentor.  The slideshow is free, but be prepared to buy raffle tickets or bid at our silent auction.  We have a lot of wonderful items for you to win from: packs, climbing gear, clothing, books, gym passes, resoles and etc. Cash or check, we are not set up to take credit cards.  Take a look at our sponsors list and this will give you an idea of the Booty.  The slideshow will be in the parking lot, so bring something to sit on.

Friday night there will be short slideshows by local climbers inside the Ponderosa Lodge starting at about 7:00.  The Ponderosa serves food all day and they love climbers - they serve a mean breakfast!  There is also a small store at the Lodge.

Camping: many of us camp up at Dome Rock but it is primitive camping and you need to bring your own water.  There is an established campground between the Lodge and Dome Rock.  There are also a few rooms to rent at the Lodge.

Climbing:  The Needles Spires and Dome Rock.

Please RSVP to events@southernsierraclimbers.org if you WILL be attending and for how many days. They are requesting an accurate head count and we need to know how many campsites to reserve.
